KGE respects intellectual-property rights and expects users to do the same. This page describes how to report allegedly infringing content and how KGE handles repeat or serious infringement.
Effective:
1. KGE intellectual property
KGE names, logos, software, characters, artwork, fictional worlds, game content, site design and other original materials are protected by intellectual-property law. Use is permitted only as authorized by KGE, applicable license terms or law.
2. User content
Users must have the rights needed to upload or share content through KGE services. Posting content does not transfer ownership to KGE, but the Terms grant KGE the operational license needed to provide the service.
3. Copyright infringement notices
A copyright notice should identify the copyrighted work, identify the allegedly infringing material and where it appears, provide contact information, include a good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized, include a statement that the notice is accurate and that the sender is authorized to act for the owner, and include a physical or electronic signature. Notices can be submitted through the Contact page under Legal / IP.
4. Counter-notices
Where applicable, a user whose content was removed in response to a copyright notice may submit a legally sufficient counter-notice. KGE may forward notices and counter-notices to the relevant parties as required by law.
5. DMCA designated agent
Where KGE relies on the U.S. DMCA online-service-provider safe harbors, KGE must maintain current designated-agent information on the website and with the U.S. Copyright Office. The deployment checklist for this site flags this as an operational legal task; publishing this policy alone is not a substitute for registration.
6. Repeat infringement
KGE may terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances and may remove or disable access to content when required by law or policy.
7. Trademark complaints
Trademark complaints should identify the mark, registration or ownership basis where available, the challenged use, why it is likely to cause confusion, and contact information for the complaining party.
Important: Product-specific disclosures, app-store rules and rights that cannot legally be waived may supplement or override general language in this policy.
